Our car park is now open but there are no toilet facilities available. We are not taking car parking donations at the moment.

Bowlees Visitor Centre is run by the North Pennines AONB Partnership, and is a gateway to the AONB and UNESCO Global Geopark. Visitors can access information about things to see and do across the North Pennines, take part in our nature and landscape themed events, and explore the surrounding countryside of Upper Teesdale.

Discover & Explore

Come and explore the North Pennines AONB and UNESCO Global Geopark. Discover attractive dales and open heather moors, tumbling upland rivers and waterfalls, traditional hay meadows, abundant wildlife and some of the darkest night skies in the UK.

Situated in beautiful Upper Teesdale, next to Low and High Force waterfalls, Bowlees Visitor Centre has all you need to make your visit to the North Pennines a memorable one.

We have booklets for self-guided walks, bike rides and nature-spotting, so you can explore the surrounding at your leisure and then relax and unwind with some delicious food and drink in our café.
