On horseback is a great way to explore the fantastic scenery of the North Pennines. These five ‘do in a day’ routes are great to get you out into the wilds with nothing to disturb you other than the clip-clop of your horse’s hooves, curlews calling and the wind in your hair!

How to get your guide
The guide, priced £6 can be bought from some local Tourist Information Centres, visitor centres and shops, or can be ordered by writing to North Pennines AONB Partnership, Weardale Business Centre, The Old Co-op Building, 1 Martin Street, Stanhope, Bishop Auckland, County Durham DL13 2UY. Please enclose a cheque for the full amount (includes postage and packing) made out to ‘Friends of the North Pennines’. Don’t forget to include your address, phone number and email address so that we can contact you about your order if we need to (your details will not be used for any other reason).
You can also pay by credit/debit card over the phone by calling the AONB Partnership (Mon-Fri) on 01388 528801 and asking for Aimee Lee.
