Where to stay
You'll find small country house hotels, village inns, guest houses, farmhouses, bed and breakfasts along with bunkhouses, camping barns and youth hostels. There are also plenty of self-catering cottages and caravan and camping sites in the North Pennines, so you should find somewhere to suit your requirements.
Green accommodation
In the North Pennines there are many accommodation providers who have joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) - if you are interested in staying in certified 'green accommodation' then follow the link.

Where to eat
From teashops, inns and country restaurants to cafes, take-aways, coffee shops and pubs the choice is rich and varied. A good way to find out about where to eat out in any particular area is to contact a local Tourist Information Centre.
The Weardale Visitors Network produced a 'Dining in Weardale' guide in 2007 which provides a comprehensive listings of eating establishments in the upper dale.
