Brignall Mill Holiday Cottage
You'll find this Five Star self-catering holiday cottage near Barnard Castle, Teesdale. It holds a Gold Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) Award

Idyllic
Brignall Mill, near Barnard Castle, is an eighteenth century watermill in an idyllic spot within the old North Riding of Yorkshire, bordering the North Pennines AONB and European Geopark and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The Mill is situated in a dramatic gorge carved out by the River Greta. The waterwheel, machinery and grindstones have been incorporated into an ingenious living space which can sleep 4/6 and offers a totally tranquil stay, with all home comforts.
Sustainable
We are committed to making a historic building sustainable for the future. A micro-hydro electric scheme, a heat pump, solar panels and woodburners have been installed to make the Mill warm and comfortable while being nearly self-sufficient in power.

There is easy access from the trans-Pennine A66, but the Mill is set remotely near the moor. Our nearest neighbour is the sheep farmer half a mile away and the only noise in the Gorge is the rush of the river and the sounds of hawks, owls and pheasants.
