International Year of Biodiversity

The UN has declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity. Look out for events in the programme badged as 'Nature/wildlife' - these are some excellent local chances to find out about biodiversity on your doorstep.

Booking events

Most events are advance booking only - to ensure enjoyment and safety for each group. Leaders will not accept you without a booking. Details on who to book with are included in the programme - if in doubt call the AONB Partnership on 01388 528801 for further information. If you are unable to attend an event you have booked on please contact the organisation you booked with - there may be a waiting list.

Costs

Events are free unless a specific cost is stated in the programme. If a payment is required you will be advised how to make it when you book.

Walk grades

Easy - suitable for most people. Easy, comfortable walking, may be some stiles.

Moderate - typically a country walk with some hills, stiles and muddy paths. Boots advisable.

Hard - hill walks with steep, strenuous climbs. Rough moorland. Boots essential
