The North Pennines AONB Partnership is running a competition for young people aged 6 to 18, to meet Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE and attend the headline event* of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival – ‘The Science of the Moon and the Stars’.
*If competition winners have already bought tickets the AONB Partnership will refund.
Each entry must be accompanied by the name and age of entrant, the name, telephone number and email address of a parent or carer, the postal address of the parent/carer. This information should be attached to the back of hard copy entries. No more than two entries per child will be accepted.
There are two age categories, 6 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years, and entrants should produce a piece of visual art in any medium (no larger than A3) on a space or stargazing theme.
The closing date is midnight on 7 October 2018 and winners will be informed by 10 October. Note that we will only communicate with the winning artists.
Entries will be judged by: Ann Whitfield, an artist based in Teesdale; Teesdale photographer Martin Rogers; and Simon Wilson, Business Manager at the North Pennines AONB Partnership who is also an artist. The decision of the panel is final and no communication will be entered into with unsuccessful applicants.
