North Pennines Observatory @ ACA
Fresh from travelling to the USA to observe the total solar eclipse on 21st August local astronomer Andy Gray will be unwrapping what eclipses are all about. The 2017 eclipse was the first one to cross the North American continent from ocean to ocean since 1918 and Andy was one of seven million people to see it – he’ll be showing images and footage of the spectacle.
This event will include stargazing opportunities at the Observatory with Gary Lintern, Chair of the North Pennines Astronomy Society – weather permitting. Wrap up warm and bring a red-light torch (if you have one).
This event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 2017, organised by the AONB Partnership and supported by Visit County Durham and the Science & Technology Facilities Council.
Bookings are closed for this event.
