Join the Cold-blooded and Spineless project on a two-day workshop to learn how to identify these fascinating insects, with entomologist Steven Falk, author of the ‘Field Guide to the Bees of Great Britain and Ireland’. Participants will undertake a mixture of indoor sessions and fieldwork to become more familiar with bees, using a combination of specimens, photographs, microscopes and identification keys. We will learn how to recognise bumblebees, cuckoo bees and solitary bees and gain an understanding of their ecology, conservation and behaviour. This course is suitable for beginners, as well as more experienced naturalists who wish to develop their knowledge of the group. We will undertake a field trip each day so please bring waterproofs, walking boots, water and food for these activities.
Tea and coffee provided.
The ticket price of £64.80 (£54 WildWatch registrant concession) includes an 8% booking fee.
