We have a whole host of events on throughout the year, from family fun and adventure through to arts and crafts.
Local artist, Gordon Lamb, will be exhibiting his wonderful watercolours at the centre throughout September.
Gordon Lamb is a professional artist and tutor living near Blanchland in the North Pennines on the border of Northumberland and Co Durham.
Born in Fife, Scotland, Gordon has been painting since boyhood with an interest in colour, rather than in line, and is still inspired by French and Scottish colourists.
He is free ranging in his subject matter and approach. He works quite rapidly in watercolour, trying to achieve spontaneity and a sense of loose reality. His subjects are landscape and seascape with abstract influence, still life and portraits.
Entry to the exhibition is free – Open from 10:30 daily
Watercolour Wednesdays with Gordon Lamb – Sep 6, 13, 20 and 27, 1.30 -3.30pm
It’s watercolour Wednesday throughout September with artist Gordon Lamb. Each two hour workshop will encourage you to get in touch with your creative side and every participant will have a finished watercolour to take home by the end of the session. Gordon will be exhibiting his own work in our mezzanine gallery throughout September and October so the workshop will be a brilliant opportunity to view Gordon’s work and discuss it with him in more detail.
