Outdoor events for young adventurers !
Do you know a child aged between 4 and 13-years-old who loves wildlife and the outdoors? This monthly club, which is run in partnership with staff from Moorhouse Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve, could be perfect for them.
Bowlees Discovery Club meets on the last Saturday of the month (except August and December when we take a holiday break). Sessions run between 11am and 1pm and we spend a large part of each session exploring and learning about Teesdale and its wildlife followed by refreshments and a craft activity back at the visitor centre.
Exciting sessions for 2017
We have lots of exciting sessions planned for 2017 which include building nest boxes, investigating hay meadows, exploring Cow Green reservoir, learning about small mammals and seeing them close up and making nettle soup!
Club membership is £5 annually plus £1 for each session to cover refreshments. Although the club is primarily aimed at primary school aged children and children in years 7 and 8 we are happy for younger children to accompany their older brothers and sisters. Membership includes a goody bag and certificate.
