Some major funding bid successes this year

During the year the team regularly drew in additional resources to support our work over the next few years. Note that this does not support so called 'core' work but is to meet ring-fenced project costs. Highlights were:

  • £168,000 from various sources to support further work on peatlands
  •  £109,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to run our Heritage Skills training programme
  • We secured a stage 1 pass from HLF for a £300,000 project called 'WildWatch North Pennines', focusing on community biodiversity recording and creating the wildlife recorders of the future. Development funding is now helping us to submit a full bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the remainder of the money.
