Its my place
During October 2009 residents of Alston Moor took part in a sense of place film project to reflect who they feel about living in Alston Moor.
Engage Media worked with pupils from Alston and Nenthead Primary Schools' film club and Samuel Kings School to make two films as part of the "It's My Place" project. The subject of the films was completely up to the pupils; the only guidance given was that the films must be about Alston Moor from their eyes.
Another film was made during a 'Make a film in a day' workshop which aimed to give people the skills they needed to make their own films following the event.
These three films can be seen here...
At the same time, members of the community were encouraged to submit their own sense of place films. These can also be seen here..
Stumble and Fall and Down But Not Out were filmed by James Conlon and Alston Flood is by Simon Danby.
