The North Pennines AONB Partnership is holding an information event to share proposals for a tree planting scheme in the Allen Valleys.
People are invited to the Carrshield Camping Barn to find out more information about the AONB Partnership’s proposed planting scheme, which could stretch from Carrshield to Coalcleugh. It will be low density planting of native species, including Rowan, downy birch and hawthorn. It is designed to help priority species in the North Pennines, prevent sediment flowing into the burn and slow the flow into the West Allen during high rainfall events.
The AONB Partnership is keen to hear views on the proposed scheme. The event is on Saturday 5 October 2019 from 2pm to 3.30pm. There will be a walk around the site at 2.30pm, but people are free to drop in to the event at any time.
